This Bohemian-style, hippie-like beach town in the Riviera Nayarit, Mexico, is lots of fun! With entertainment and activities of all kinds, it doesn’t cater to just one type of person, whether by age or interest, and offers so many different things to do that both youth and retirees make this their choice destination. Of course, Sayulita has the reputation as a premier surf spot for its long, tall waves – appealing to both beginner and expert surfers – and is the site of many surf schools and surf competitions.

Some of the main draws to this town are its natural wonders and water activities, such as its sparkling gold beaches and deep blue ocean; lush rainforests and rolling hillsides; exotic wildlife and marine life, and everything that goes along with it, such as Humpback whale watching, sport fishing, sailing, snorkeling, diving, surfing, and swimming plus birding, hiking, horseback riding, mountain biking,  four wheeling, and zip lining.

With such breathtaking nature surrounding it, Sayulita is naturally a community focused on wellness and fitness.  Nearly everyone living and vacationing here mirrors the epitome of health: tan, thin, fit, and vibrant.  It’s no surprise that alternative forms of physical and spiritual health, such as holistic and organic wellness abound, including yoga studios, fitness centers, massage clinics, day spas, meditation rooms, energy healing, and more.

Not surprisingly, there are sports bars, outdoor bars, live music, and other nightlife welcoming residents and travelers looking for some small town action – and for a small town, there’s plenty of it – but not the trendy nightclubs and bars of large resort towns.  This beach town moves to its own beat with a light and casual nightlife that offers palapa and beach parties under warm, starry skies with ocean breezes instead of exclusive nightclubs and fancy bars.

Beyond this are the formal tours and attractions that many enjoy, whether it be a party boat or adventure tour.  This small town is big on entertainment, and offers plenty of Sayulita activities to keep even the most discriminating traveler delighted.
